Mizuki, how did you decide to organize the festival?

For a very long time I had no idea what I really wanted to do with my life. Many people say you should find what you love but it was very difficult for me. I was always good at finding a lot of excuses.

After the catastrophe in Japan in 2011, I started focusing on finding what I love. It was not easy at all, but after a long struggle, I finally found something. The Film was one of them.

When I moved to Switzerland in 2006, there were not so many Japan-related events but over the past few years, it started to grow up.

I thought that someday, I would also like to organize a Japan-related event here in Switzerland to create a cultural bridge between the nations. 2014 is a very special year for Switzerland and Japan. It's the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the nations. For this special year, with many people's warm support, we are starting the Japanese film festival "GINMAKU-New Films from Japan" at the brand new opened cinema "Houdini" in Zurich. We would like to thank everyone who support us. We can't thank you enough!
